Hitchcock's classic screened in Bryant Park. Go right when the lawn opens if you want one of the best spots. Summer nights in the city can get pretty hot, so you'll probably want to go home and take a cold shower afterwards.

Learn about the advantages functional abstraction has over OOP, with examples from OCaml and Java. The List thinks this talk looks awesome but also a bit futile, since ideally it won't change the state of the world at all.
Tools for Continuous Integration at Google Scale talk 5:30pm 111 8th Ave, Manhattan
How to do continuous integration at scale. Note: This talk is also apparently on "Google time" and starts at 5:30pm.
Ruby's define_method, method_missing, and instance_eval 15 min
A quick introduction to Ruby's define_method, method_missing, and instance_eval methods. If you enjoy this, you should check out Metaprogramming Ruby. (H/t to Friend of the List Danielle Sucher.)
Go to the Sony Wonder Technology Lab. It's admittedly a weird place: Part museum, part advertisement [And part tax write-off? -Ed.], the "Wonder Lab" is a free and open to the public and has some cool stuff to offer, including movie screenings and interactive exhibits. The List stumbled upon it several years ago while looking for a respite from the summer heat (they show recently released films in an air-conditioned theater, for free).
